Cold-Blooded: A DC Universe Fanfiction (#Wattys2015)

Slade Wilson, AKA Deathstroke, is among the finest assassins and mercenaries in the world, but every relationship he’s ever had has ended in carnage and betrayal, whether with father or brother, wife and child, friend and ally. Of all those he’s ever cared about, only two are left. One is his daughter Rose, known among costumed adventurers as Ravager. She’s a member of the Teen Titans, but she’s never felt entirely at home among them or anywhere else. Even though her father trained her mercilessly and dosed her with the same serum that made him what he is before he turned on her, he's all the family she has. The other is Yukime Kuwano, a professional henchman who seems to live and breathe secrets. She’s been his lover for two years, and she’s searching for something in this world or the next. Slade wants his daughter to continue her training and follow in his footsteps. Knowing how little Rose trusts him, he's come up with the perfect bait to lure her back: someone she can trust. A new mother. Yukie is all the things he isn't--warm, reliable, and kind. Yukie thinks she's taking her lover on vacation to Japan as a way of saying goodbye to both him and the world. Her interest in the supernatural is leading her places where there is no turning back. But when Rose unexpectedly joins them in Tokyo, they bond so quickly and so naturally it's like they're already a family, just as Slade planned. The question now is: Who will get what they want, and what are they willing to sacrifice to get it? People call me Macabre, I'm a feared villainess and apprentice to the one and only Slade Wilson. Oh, and don't forget my dog, Ador, he's got a kryptonite collar. Yep, so there you have it, my little bubble life is perfect. Haha, not. I mean if you don't count the murdering and stuff. The Justice League and their mini League have been taking an interest in me lately and it's really getting on my nerves. With the tension between Slade and the Light, I don't have the patience to deal with them. Hmp. Maybe I should just kill them all. Each chapter is about 1600 words, minimum 1500, unless it's the Prologue. Usually that's short. Obviously I don't own Young Justice. I made Macabre, but if you're out there DC, come and take her!
