Barry's life

I am a reader of crime novels and hard science fiction almost exclusively, and yet this story, which I have been writing for a long time, is a love story, I can't explain it even to myself. The characters will have to work through hardship and evolve to be able to surrender to the magical things around them and the flow of the universe and the love of other people. This story still is a work in progress, it has holes and it is to be continued

Set in a post apocalyptic world 29 years from now, the world is bathed in mutagen that transformed every human being on the surface of the earth to supernatural beings. The earth was thrown into chaos as people struggled to control their powers, the death rates rose at an alarming rate, the world needed a hero and they got it... From the ashes rose an elite group called the luminos which consisted of majority of the world leaders, they came up with a movement to restore balance, they divided the world into two, the heroes and the villains. The heroes were helpers, the ones with stable powers, the villains were considered vicious and a ticking time bomb so they were confined to a reform center, a military base owned by the luminos, where the villains learnt to control their out of control powers. The world balance was restored thanks to the luminos, many years later and the movement was intensified, the world leaders called it the revolution. Jade Riele Smith is a 17 year old villain with dark powers and the ability to open portals, she was separated from her family after they were brutally murdered as punishment for escaping the reform center, she joined the resistance which consists of a group of teenage villains who fight to disrupt the revolution, to restore equality and justice. A blank doll with acting and action running in her veins, Freia woke up in a hospital with no memory of what brought her there. Sure, the doctors said a car crash delivered her there, but it didn't feel like it. They said her family's dead but how come Freia didn't feel like that was true? That is until one who was dear to her was killed, in front of her. Of course, she was devastated. Why would that be a question? One day, Fabio decided to put her into his school filled with students that he specifically chose to be in. When she was finally forced to be in it, she found out things she thought that only existed in books. Powers unknown to the modern world, sheltered children who only knows the world through TV and non-interactive computers. All of the information comes in that school, but never comes out. I gotta say, why would you believe something that was written and altered by humans from outside? Would you even put your trust on the person who doesn't let you out unless he wants you to? Six high school students looks like anyone else acts like anyone else but are capable of things no one else is. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else.
