One night things were fine, the next, everyone Kelly's ever cared about is gone. To make matters worse Kelly has an amazing gift and that's the reason why everyone left wants Kelly for themselves. But there is one place where Kelly will be safe, only she doesn't know where it is. But she does know one thing, she has to get there, and fast. I let my eyes close. Once they are, they wont open again. I keep getting hotter and hotter. Everyone is screaming and yelling for help. And I know. Everything will not be alright. I know, that this was the last time I would ever see my friends again. They would all perish in the flames. And I would be left here, under rubble and never, ever see them again. I will be the only one left. I will be the only one roaming the planet. No people, not even animals to talk to. For the first time in my life, I will be completely alone. „The sunset is beautiful, isn't it?", she asked, the sound of her voice strained, as if she hadn't been talking for a long time. The boy sat next to her, staring forward into the leaving sun. He didn't even look at the young woman when she spoke. Yet still he could feel himself, only a small part of himself, longing to hear more of her voice. It used to calm him down, singing soft lullabies whenever nightmares haunted him, or telling stories to him and his brother. It was the only comfort he could rely on. And he ended it before it could poison him. Silence filled the vast empty space. Only a single Rowan tree swayed in the non existent wind, its branches reaching down where the two figures sat, sheltering them from any harm that may come their way. It was time to leave this place again. He couldn't stay here for long. He hugged his knees tight, unconsciously swaying back and forth as he did so. Maybe, if he hugged himself hard enough, he could stay here and listen to one of her stories again? Just one short story. His efforts were in vain. He realized that when his hands and feet started to disappear, just like they have done thousands of times before. There was no way things could continue the way they were now. I woke up in a dark room, I didn't know where I was. In fact I couldn't remember anything from last night, it was all a blur. My sight was a bit blurry but I noticed a picture. Then the girl turns on me and somehow pins me on to the ground. She says, "You're one of them aren't you. You know nothing about this kingdom. What are you a morphling or a fusion?" I am shocked. How did this girl figure me out? Was it that obvious?
