Ofttimes, in war, civilizations do things they would not have thought themselves capable of when at peace. Young men and women become trained killers and are sent to places from which they may not return, alliances are forged with those once considered unsavory and barbaric, and weapons once thought cruel are used regularly.

Things were no different for the Unity.

When the might of the Earth Expanse was laid out before them, no charismatic leader stepped forward to speak for calm and panic filled that void. A result of this panic was project Rudis, a program that stole gifted children from their families and enhanced them into the Flamma, augmented soldiers like nothing seen before.

Amongst them was Kali LaCroix. She suffered through ten years of Rudis's cruelty, then fought for ten more years till the Expanse was brought to its knees. Now she lives as a civilian in a society where most fear her and many consider her a monster. Her own family, despite trying to love her, fails to understand her after two decades apart. But questions still remain about the true nature of project Rudis, questions with horrifying answer

There would be a significant breakthrough in the Nikkes, with the introduction of the Grimm models of Nikkes. Five Nikkes would be produced by a now defunct company. This squad would be called Goddess. They would be commanded by a special forces Captain Nicholas Miller, and through their first missions, they would further prove the effectiveness of specialized Nikkes and even push the Raptures back some. However, even their efforts would not be enough to stop the tithe of Raptures from encompassing Europe. After many years of fighting, there was one last desperate defense of a structure known as the Ark. Unfortunately, humanity would end up underground where they would spend the next 5 centuries fighting the raptures in smaller scale battles, skirmishes, and special operations. All while the fates of Goddess squad and the now legendary Captain Nicholas Miller had remained a mystery.

It's divided into three main sections, the city, the framlands, and the Lowers. The people are divided into three groups as well, Uppers, Middles and Lowers. Uppers are made of elite scientist, Astro-crops, bureaucrats they made up about 3% of the population. The Middles are are the farmers, the guard, teachers, doctors, the food processors, clothes makers and of course the mechanical maintenance workers. They make-up the 97% of the 10,000 counted citizens. The lowers are criminals and children born to un-paired parents. They live separated from the middles and Upper. In lowers you work in water reclamation or in one of the fish farms that supply protein to the ship. In the year 2149 Dylan De Rovia is trying to wrap her head around the idea that in two year's she'll be paired. That they call marriage on the Ark. Pairing is good most who are paired do end-up staying together because while genetics play good part in determining a match so does personality. Some people choose to use spend this time having a good time with as many partners as possible. Dylan however, vowed that she would never fall in love with anyone before pairing. The universe had other plans however, when Dylan learns that she'll pair with an Upper named Kyive Sinclar life gets more complicated than ever. Falling in love is hard enough falling in love in space that the story.
