Brian, a boy who is book smart but street stupid falls in love with Cindy, a girl who has a beautiful face but a cold personality.

Brian initially loaned the umbrella to Cindy to help her escape a night of cold rain, but she discovered that the umbrella provided the same anonymity as sunglasses. His repeated demands for the loaned umbrella soon lead to her romantic interest in him. Unfortunately, Brian is too clueless to understand her feelings.

Whenever she's at her lowest point, he uses his hand with the umbrella to provide comfort. The umbrella becomes a symbol of his ability not only to protect her from the harsh elements of nature but also the judgmental stare of anti-fans. Brian is innocent in his interactions with Cindy, seemingly uncaring of the fact that she is famous for her poker face and complete control over her emotions.
