16-year-old Nate was born and raised in Aspertia City. He spends his days getting into trouble with his mouth or trying to fight his way out of that trouble. His dream is to get a Pokémon partner and travel the Unova Region with his partner Pokémon and his two best friends: Hugh and Rosa. They're given the chance when Bianca, an assistant to Professor Juniper, Pokémon Professor, arrives to give Nate and Rosa their first Pokémon and a Pokédex. Now that Nate has set out to complete his dream he has to face the reality that he's not only in love with his best friend, but the world isn't always black and white...

As these two students go along their day, they don't bother looking at each other when walking past each other in the halls. This makes Rosa the only person he doesn't talk to, due to a complication in their childhood he regrets, thought never mentions it, but Rosa was easy to forgive and forget, yet still prefers to keep herself away from getting hurt again. When learning that Nate never talked to Rosa before, his friends go far and beyond to help their friendship bloom again. But things aren't taken lightly and everyone soon discovered that there was trauma in their past. Trying to get past the complicated insecurities the couple holds, it'll take a lot of work for the students from multiple regions to get through.

She found herself facing new rivals, growing stronger with each challenge, and watching her newly found friend become clouded by determination and rage.
