Elsa Halverson is suspended in a void of emptiness, desperately clawing at the past because sometimes it seems as if that's all she has left. There's nothing left for her in the present, nothing to live for anymore, and frankly Elsa'a not sure that she deserves to live, not after what she's done. Alone in a sparsely populated town by the sea, Elsa wants nothing more than to suppress and forget all the events of last summer. But the nagging memories and wistful remembrances seem determined not to let her escape into oblivion, and Elsa soon learns that forgetting is often not conducive to moving forward, rather that the key to advancing is confronting her past, facing her fears and living in the moment. And Elsa may end up having to face the turmoil of her past quite literally, perhaps even realising that she’s not quite so alone as she feels.
A story about friendship and love, courage and bravery, overcoming adversity, healing wounds, and living with scars. But most importantly, faith will be realised, relationships tested and emotions unsettled, a constant reminder that things are never as they appear to be, and that you don’t ever know what you’ve got, until it’s gone.
