Leigha Myres is starting high school, she knew she wouldn't fit in. Carrying a notebook wherever she goes, writing down any interesting story idea she can. Only because she wants to get rich someday, by creating some amazing story. 
Tell that to all the half-filled journals in her new bedroom. 
She didn't even fit in anywhere all her life, so how would she fit in this new place? Hiding away all the time, scribbling in her notebooks...would she ever find a friend that would like her? Or even be like her? 
Her wish for an adventure, action and friendship comes to a whole different level when she finds a mysterious entrance in her school bathroom. To a realm that would change her, and her whole life forever. Where she will get a gift, maybe make some friends, and probably face the most craziest adventure in a lifetime. While accepting this gift, she begins to have nightmares, visions about something dark...but come on. She's just trying to make some friends...
Facing something dark like in the books she reads, or attempts to write. She will get a story alright. But will she be able to live to tell it?
