"I, Sesian M. H. Grace, am the true Queen of the North, and I refuse to be silenced."

•••

Princess Sesian Grace is nothing but a frequenter of sorrow and loss. Parents stripped from her at thirteen, kingdom revoked by fifteen, and freedom stolen since maturity (sixteen), an inherited coronation seems ages away. As the unofficial "Northern Princess" with no city to house her subjects, the nomadic Sesian's life isn't her own to control. To stake her claim over her own lost icy region, she must negotiate with the enemy force that has taken it over: the Southern Empire and the Dragon King.

King Evan Carrow has had everything handed to him on a golden platter since his conception. With no notion of forgiveness or mercy, he takes what he wants and rules with the ferocity of the dragon he commands. Property, lives, women; with no end to his "birthrights", a princess incapable of raising an army to fight him for her own kingdom warrants the least possible interest or benefit on his behalf, except for one thing: her.

An inexplicable bond draws him to her, which only fuels the urge to lay his claim upon her. But centuries of rivalry and feud split the two apart, and personal secrets cut deep. If the princess wants her land, she must give up the compromise and settle for what he wants, no matter the terms, no matter the cost. Sesian and her people cannot take the brute of a war against an army or the persecution from Evan himself, and she hasn't the ability to stand up to him.

What kind of a man is the Dragon King, really? What does he want from Sesian and, much more, can she forgive herself for giving in to his demands? What kind of a woman does that make her, and can she possibly hope to save her subjects before they become extinct? They say "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger", but this time it may just be too much... and Evan may be the key to the ultimate destruction or salvation of the Northern Princess.

Wouldn't you rather tell me where it is other than me reporting you to the guards and getting you executed? It would be much easier on you." She rambled, her soft voice leaking with desperation once again. And as she spoke, I couldn't help but feel more shocked. Was she begging me? Seriously? This was our queen? "But I will if I have to; I will if you don't say anything in five seconds." "Do it then," I challenged, "Or are you too scared to touch me?" ・・・ When Valoria becomes the queen of Elarys, she's left with a mountain of responsibilities. Grace, the princess of the most powerful werewolf pack in the world, has always been a pawn in her father's political games. When the king announces her arranged marriage to Xavier, the heir of the second-strongest pack, her world feels even smaller. Though Xavier is kind and understanding, he, too, has no desire for the union. Both are trapped by duty, forced to comply to strengthen the alliance between their packs against a looming vampire threat. As the date of the wedding approaches, Grace finds a flicker of something she thought she'd never feel-hope. Johnathon, her new and fiercely loyal security guard, enters her life as more than just a protector. His unwavering dedication to her safety stirs emotions in Grace that she's never experienced before. His presence is a reminder of the life she longs for: one where she's free to make her own choices and follow her heart. Amid the palace's intrigue, the vampires strike a bold move by infiltrating Grace's school. Their presence is a forewarning of an impending war, one that could destroy both her pack and Xavier's. The lines between enemy and ally blur as secrets come to light, and Grace begins to question her father's ruthless rule. Grace, Xavier, and Johnathon must navigate the treacherous waters of duty, forbidden feelings, and the shadow of war. Will Grace find the courage to defy her father and take control of her destiny? Will Johnathon's protection turn into something deeper? And in a world on the brink of chaos, will they discover a way to escape and build a life free from the chains of royal obligations?
