Freedom

This story is set in the same universe as Lamia's Longing, and will henceforth be called The Merging Verse. To become Mated is to find love, every Monster knows this. And yet what would happen should a frightened Human break the bond before it could complete? Nathan Skipper was always a rather easy going kind of guy. But the day he met Marin Skarner would change this part of him forever. For Marin Skarner isn't just another pretty girl he happened to meet. She's a Vampire, another of the many species of Monster that became one with Humanity during The Merging over one hundred years ago. The two seemed fated to become close, to be friends and so much more. But that is a tale yet to be explored in detail. For this story is set two months after Nathan chose to run. To flee, to hide, to reject the bond just before it completely formed. Hurting, fractured and alone. Can Nathan find it within himself to face his fear and fully become Marin's Mate? Or will he continue to try and flee from his terribly broken bond. Especially when the terrifying Incorruptus loom near, all too willing to spread their terrible message to those who dare Mate outside of their race. Come one and all, read and find out.
