This story was originally taken from @Pokestory01 and re-uploaded to make a better story-line.

One day, in an attempt to take his own life, (Y/n) had climbed to the top of Mt. Coronet, where gods supposedly heard pleas for help. Being denied any sort of divine intervention, (Y/n)'s plan goes south as a red Absol stops him from committing suicide. Months, almost a year later, (Y/n) is confronted by what started him on the path again. However, this time, the Absol, Sonya, makes it a personal chore to make sure that (Y/n) is taken care of. But more seems to be lying beneath. Come and find out all that what happens in this story as the two go on an adventure that not only makes an unbreakable bond and keep each other alive, but tests them when something goes awry.

"Because you are not like the rest of us. You are different, therefore able to do things us Pokémon cannot." "I don't understand," he insisted. "In time you will, but for now, we must end this here." Arceus closed his eyes. Slowly everything faded to black. "Good luck, Kyle. Grant my wish." ________________________________ Tremors rattle the earth. An Absol's Life [ Currently Being Edited ] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For personal reasons, Akila had never really loved Pokemon. Alas, in trying to become a high-ranking Pokemon trainer, she finds herself stuck with an Absol she despises from the moment she lays eyes on him. Yet, life works in mysterious ways and very soon into her journey to beat the trainer Sabrina, she finds herself side-tracked by her newest Pokemon - as well as an outside force - and lead into a world she had never really opened her eyes to. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Not all rights of this story are mine. The rights for the Pokemon and the names of the region are those of Pokemon. I own the personalities of my own characters however, and the small forest where this particular story takes place. Note that not all this will be loyal to the canon, and, a lot of this will need to be revised. From a technical story-writing stand point, and that of the fandom this is based around, the piece is nothing great. I am working on it though, hoping to edit it to where it becomes worthy of the readers and votes it did gain. Thank you for giving this story a chance. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Main Dedication: To Jess, the wonderful cat that had always been a friend to me, the one who cared about what I felt when no one else would and who made this world a better place. I will always miss you. You may not have been my cat, but you've always been my friend. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

One year ago, Prythian suffered an attack at the hands of the necromancer, Melantha. She was ultimately defeated, but the marks of her terrible influence still remain in the memories and on the bodies of her victims. Wynter, Heir to the Winter Court, bears many of those marks. Unable to live with himself after what happened on the island Inmortui, Wynter chose to go into seclusion and face his lingering trauma alone. Regardless of his attempts to isolate himself, there are those who refuse to abandon him, no matter how badly he wishes they would. Elodie Rohese has carried a fondness towards Wynter since she first met him, just before he was kidnapped by Melantha. She refuses to leave him alone in his isolation, and instead, visits his home frequently, even though he never admits her. Despite her uncle's wrath and prejudices, Elodie continues to reach out to Wynter. When circumstances finally drive Wynter to answer her, they are both swept into a storm of unresolved trauma and unacknowledged romance. Together, they can weather the storm, but apart, it will only break them. Disclaimer: I do not own the ACOTAR series or the characters and places therein. Gwyneth had always felt connected to her faith, a higher power presiding over her. That faith had shaken that devastating day those years ago, the day that went on to haunt her every nightmare for years to come. She's still trying to come back from it, to not only restore her faith in life and love, but her faith in herself. The sanctity of her spirit- she prayed for resolve. Every punch was a prayer. Every mile was a hymn. Until her knuckles bled and her knees gave. Azriel had been surrounded by darkness his whole life, a poison on his world, on his being. He exercised restraint in his every waking moment, banishing that darkness within himself. Some guessed of the strain it put on him, but no one knew the extent of it, how deep his scars ran. It was better this way, he was sure. He had always thought that if there were a higher power- which he wholly doubted- such deities must loathe him to have burdened him such darkness. He hadn't much faith in the gods anyway, much less faith that he could sway their opinion on him. But Gwyneth and Azriel did have one thing in common: the quiet fight within themselves. They only knew one way: to go about it alone, couldn't fathom letting another in. But there's a magic in finding someone who is your equal but opposite, something transforming. And frankly, Gwyneth and Azriel could both use a little magic. All characters owned by SJM in the ACOTAR series. Story takes place after the events of ACOSF. Aligns with the events in my other fic: A Storm of Flames and Deceit. I haven't finished Crescent City, so this story takes place outside of the events of those books as well.
