I should've noticed.
The linger of his gaze on my lips during the interview, his pupils dilated, and not just because of the dimness of the room. The fact that he would call me in for the slightest of mistakes I would make, even if someone else had done the exact, same thing. The casual hand he would put on my shoulder when he was explaining something to me; as if he couldn't have done that from his chair on the opposite side of the table. The way his eyes would roam down my body and back up to my face again, all part of a repetitive, twisted cycle. The span of his attention seemed to always be on me. But that's the thing. I hadn't. And it was surely going to come back to bite me on the rear end. But only time would tell. In the meantime, I would be regretting my life decisions.
Oh, why had I decided it would be a good idea to work a part-time job?
