The first known case of a super-powered being was all the way back in 1938. At first these people were outcast to society and contained, until it was decided that once these super-powered beings turn 18 they would be forced by law to go to a special hidden school, to train them to become protectors named "superhero's". In the present day, Richard Napier is one of these beings, and after showing up to the school, he tries to prove that he's gonna be the greatest Superhero that ever lived, but in the process he might get his nose into places he really shouldn't be....Todos os Direitos Reservados

Shortlisted for the Open Novella Contest 2019 • Being a Supervillain is tough. Between managing a secret lair and making sure your mom doesn't stop loving you because you keep telling everyone she's dead, it's a really hard business to be good at? Add to that, the fact that somehow you got arrested because your cat sitter didn't take the day off and then you go around expressing your unconditional love for pancakes in a Super holding cell because technically they can't put you in a proper prison and you don't really have a choice because lawyers are expensive? And then, you realise your best friend is plotting go take over your spot as the greatest villain there ever was? Okay, maybe not the greatest, but you do come pretty close to it! To top it off, there's that one Superhero who's just so completely gorgeous, you couldn't imagine any harm coming to them? Because they're just that precious? I guess that makes me a Supervillain with minor time travel superpowers and a huge crush on a not so powerful Superhero? And all you have to do is protect yourself and everyone you love from your ex best friend/sidekick --because let's face it that's the highest level of praise for a wretched traitor here--and you also have to get out of Super Holding somehow? What could go wrong? Right?

2023; was the year that few to little kids that were born with super powers. Some were considered strong while others remained normal yet special. Still, society was skeptical of such a rare breed of humans being out and about. So Asylums from worldwide decided to take in the gifted children. Shyla asylum was no different. Now we have Ajin. A ten year old boy who has powers that are deemed dangerous by mankind. If only they knew about who else was inside of his body along with him... someone who holds a lot more bloodlust and power than the child does himself. Someone that almost nobody has seen in action... without being killed off.

We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. He goes undercover at Ravenswood Academy where he meets new friends and old friends, and an evil plot that could shake the world. Part 2: Life was finally starting to settle down(ish) in the few days of freedom, but of course normality can't be something for ex-villain Leonardo Sutton. Metas existed. It wasn't a secret. Few people were okay with metas living among them. Most people tried to keep metas and humans separated. Humans got a lot more privilege, no matter what metas tried. Protests? Ignored. Hiding your powers? They always found out. It had been going on for decades now, since the first ever meta sighting was recording, and it was common knowledge that metas deserved less. One college student had the brilliant idea to stand up for his fellow metas. For the first time in history, a meta accomplished something and wasn't struck down for it. When another college student comes around with a less than ideal past with a potential villain, will his connection tip the scales of justice or will his efforts be for naught? Vinicus isn't happy about having to fight a child, but he can't let Max find out. After all, super-villains can't be "good people"... Can they? We can't all be born heroes.
