Scarlett Brooks was just an ordinary girl living in Phoenix Arizona, trying to earn some cash by working at a small cafe for the summer. It wasn't all that bad, she made a good amount of money and it was actually kind of fun.
One day, she met a guy during her shift that changed her life around. His name was Nate Parker; a sarcastic and rude person that just bothered Scarlett so much, she could barely stand him. When she tells him to leave her alone, he continues to talk to her. She thought he does it just to annoy her - and she hated it.
But as she got to know him more and more, she realized that he's not as bad as she thought he was.

I'm running, my dress bunched up in my fists. But I'm not running for my life I'm running for his, and when I see him I stop. I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest.
