Ashton Jones has never been normal, even if she looks it. She's been alive for 156 years, and personifies the city of Seattle, Washington.
But of course, that doesn't stop her from meeting humans, and even falling in love with them, which turns out to be her downfall when she meets Adam Young, a boy who seems to understand her better than she understands herself. And when Ashton is in a state such as that which she meets him in, understanding is nothing short of a blessing.
But more important than understanding is help, and when gentle giant Ivan, the personification of Russia, starts to play a larger part in Ashton's life, he offers her both.
Will Ashton be able to break through his reputation to find the real Ivan, just a sweet, misunderstood boy in need of someone who will love him back? Or will she settle for charming and friendly introvert Adam instead?
