Warning: This story is still a work in progress. For now you may read the Prologue. The wedding was the talk of the town, and considering the size it was no wonder. With such a small population everyone knew everyone even though few were related through blood. Grudges were short lived in a community that worked together on multiple levels. Until this particular joining. The reason: Food. Traditionally each family had a favorite dish they passed on from generation to generation ensuring the recipes survived. Many families had countless pieces of paper written in clear crisp letters that had been tended to with care. The missing ingredient: fish. Not just any fish though but a specific kind. Normally one would simply go to market to buy enough to feed two large families. For others, it becomes the start of something more.

Family

In a small town, horrible things can happen. Affairs, rape, murder, preserving constant agony of others in order to call upon the Sun himself. So what is a family to do, but celebrate with a baby shower? Little do they know, one of them would be stuck in a room of ice months later as punishment for things they've done. Everything is connected. Everything. Any and every small detail is important, but none of the gloom is enough to prevent the magnificence of a few missteps. Missteps, of course, that are able to shatter families without hesitation. No exceptions.
