I had been standing in front of her house for the past two hours. I'd seen her half an hour ago looking outside her window and I knew she saw me.
But the way she was standing in her room made me bow down to her. Not that I haven't been doing that for the past seven years but it had an authoritative air around her that made her seem different. Feel different.
Maybe because now, she was looking down at me with both mockery and pity.
Just like everyone else.

As I see my mom walk out the door I look at my dad smiling at me. The way he smiled at me made realize how afraid he was. I glance at him and give him a fake smile before he comes up to me and gives me a hug. The warmth of his body was reassuring but I feel the tears start to come down his face.
