Cora, Faye, and Raina live in a small town in the middle of nowhere called Araville. Araville is normal, except for one very important thing. In Araville, is a magical tree that just so happens to provide magic for all of North America, and Cora's family is sworn to protect it from anyone who would try to harm the tree in any way. The humans in Araville have no idea, but the Onavei--a magical species that a lot of the town's population, including Cora, Faye, and Raina, happen to be--are fully aware of the tree's power, and live in Araville because of it. But what happens if a plot to destroy the tree, and in turn, irreparably damage magic was uncovered by these three? What if they aren't sure who to trust, because anyone, even their parents, could be a part of this? What if something horrible happens before they can stop it? What then?
