A short story based off of Billy Walker's song The Lawman
They sent me out from Santa Fe to try and find his trail
They think that I'm the only one who can bring him back to jail
This star says I'm a lawman this gun has seen me through
And though my heart is heavy I've got a job to do
You see he's such a proud man who never learned to crawl
But a good man turns gun slinger he's the meanest man of all
He killed the US Marshall and for that he's gonna pay
And I'm the lonely lawman who's on his trail today
There was a time he fought for true and on the side of right
Until the only girl he loved was killed one faithful night
I know his heart was shattered as he turned the barren sod
And laid away her body come ending into God
Then he vowed a revenge to those who took her life
And every notch upon his gun a tear shed for his wife
But revenge is like wild fire sweepin' through the wood
It turns reason into ashes and it burns out on the good

She and her sister, Holly, who was Davy's mother, are members of a well-known outlaw family in the year of 1872. Holly has acted as a mother to Jessie, growing up, as their mother died early in Jessie's life. Their father is one of the members of the Banks gang, though they haven't seen him in years. Also members of the gang are several cousins, an uncle, and various other non-related men. Holly became pregnant at an early age from one of the gang members, and Davy is her child. Holly tried to raise Jessie and also Davy away from the gang's influence. But the gang members will occasionally come to the small farm where they live and take supplies or take a rest from being pursued by law. Around a year and a half earlier, Holly met a man. Devlin Riley. Devlin is a Texas Ranger. He p and Holly fall in love and marry, and Holly has a baby, Owen. For the period of time that Devlin is a part of their lives, there is some stability for Holly and Jessie. He provides for them financially, and when the family gang of outlaws find out she is married to a lawman, they keep their distance for a while. Holly contacts influenza and dies. This story takes place after that, when baby Owen is about seven months old.Terminé

Wyatt Kelly never had an easy life, at least in his opinion his life was never easy. Wyatt is 16 years old and lives on the streets, sleeps in alley way and manages to find odd jobs around time to pay for the very occasional new shirt or pair of pants from the second hand shop and his meager dinners every night. Now, you might be wondering why in the hell a 16 year old boy is living on the streets instead of living at home with a loving family for at least another two years? The answer is simple yet sad; his family which consisted of his mum, dad, an older brother and a younger sister all died in a house fire late one night while he was staying the night at a friend's house. Yes, he was taken into a foster home but he ran as far away from that home as he could after being beaten every day for a month because his foster father couldn't handle a 'fag' living in his home but he wouldn't send Wyatt back to the foster care system because he liked the money he received every month for keeping him. When he left he managed to leave the state he had lived in his entire 16 years, he escaped to two states from his own before settling where he was; San Diego California and he was originally from Salem, Oregon. He wasn't thrilled of being so far away from his families graves but he couldn't stand being in the foster home for however he would remain there. Wyatt plans on returning home when he turns 18 years old, only two more years before he can return and visit his family when he feels the need or would like to.Terminé
