Rebecca Coldmeyer has a run in with the Hitchhiker Myth,  a girl named Elizabeth Rose Jensing. One rainy, dark night Rebecca is driving home from her cousins and she nearly runs over a woman standing in the middle of the road. Rebecca nearly hits her with an inch in between her car and the woman. Rebecca gives the stranger a ride home, but stops for gas and the girl gives her a warning, then vanishes.
