Certainly they could trust that those in power ultimately had the best interests of the people in mind, right? ~~~ Luna slouched low in her seat, staring at droplets of water that ran diagonally down the window of the bus. The sky was a flat, depressing grey and the incessant, soaking rain left her constantly chilled. It was a typical "liquid sunshine" day in the Pacific Northwest. They drove past a single tall scraggly tree on top of a hill shrouded in mist. The creepy tree was full of screaming crows. How could she hear them from inside the bus when she couldn't even seem to hear the voices of the kids around her? Geez, that was an awfully freaking dark image. She shivered and looked away. What did they call a group of crows again? Right, a murder of crows. Perfect. The weather was certainly the only thing that was typical these days, although you'd never know it by looking around the bus at most of the kids as they sat joking and gossiping with each other just like they had before... before that day everything had changed. Everyone in town knows about the sea monster. Every night, he goes into town to find his prey. He lures them in with his voice, only to bring them back to the ocean, to eat them. Few survive this, and the people who do, they lose their mind, like they were cursed. You can only gather from them that he was beautiful, his voice was like an angel's, and that when he took you into the ocean, he became a monster. He only hunted young men, women, teens, and the occasional twelve-year old. It was terrifying, because the people had no way to stop him. Every night, someone would go missing, or come back insane. They knew he lived in the ocean, and when people tried to bomb the area where they thought the monster lived, they would either be cursed, or just eaten by the sea monster himself. And the people who came back insane, they would always wander over the fact that the monster had not even a scratch on him. Teens, young men and women would fear for their lives, and lock themselves in their houses at night. But only one person refused to hide, either in bravery or utter stupidity. That person was Will Solace. So basically, this story is based on the cover art of the book. I just thought it was such a great idea and wanted to put it to story. I saw another person do this and they used the same cover art, and I hope you guys like my version! I, personally very much like it and hope you guys do to! I ascended my throne as Luna of the Nightingale pack after the death of my parents. I was a single child of two wolves of a very special ancestry, the last two descendants of the Gypsy Gail line. No, my parents weren't related, no incest here. However, both did carry blood from the first Lycan clan to ever exist. The Gypsy Gail pack. It is said it got its name and its power from the Gypsies who lived amongst it. They too praised the Moon Mother and in return, she soon paired them with her beloved creations as mates. This of course, changed the history of Lycans forever. Soon, werewolves with unique capabilities came to exist. Many used these gifts to better the world around them and others, well obviously didn't. Then there were those that were not gifted abilities. They grew scornful and jealous. When they broke away, they formed packs of their own and soon wars raged. Over the millennia, the Gypsy Gail pack fell, as did most of its descendants. Only a few lived on in secret, passing down their traditions and rituals in dark corners amongst those highly trusted. The world now believes that the Moon Mother has turned her back on the Lycans of today. Nothing could be further from the truth. Many no longer seek her guidance or offer her praise.
