"MAKE A FRIEND TO DESTROY AN ENEMY"

Henrietta is a war hero and minor celebrity- and the newest member of TORCH's legislature, the Sorority, Retta is a million times more comfortable in her armor fighting aliens than she is in suits giving speeches. And yet Grace, TORCH's most iconic leader, insists that she sees something in the brash young soldier. That means Henrietta is about to get a crash course in how TORCH's government works- just in time for a massive series of coordinated terrorist attacks to rock the protectorate. If Henrietta can't navigate the minefield of factionalism and grudges, not to mention Grace's sordid past, then the massacres will continue with nobody to stop them- and TORCH itself may cease to exist.

Being neurodivergent, maybe, kind-of queer (she doesn't know yet), and adopted without a single other girl in her house, fifteen year old Star has enough problems on her plate. Being in high school is hard enough, but when she starts displaying freakishly supernatural strength, it gets a lot worse. Then, right at the epitome of a prevailing identity crisis, shit hits the fan, and Star's country is invaded by a violent, weirdly religious nation called Callila, who seems particularly hellbent on taking over the entire continent for their god. Star and her friends are dragged out of their safe, loving world by their ankles and thrust into one full of deceit, barely concealed sexism and homophobia, and superiority complexes rooted in classism. Star learns that she has an alleged relation to a long dead court noble she couldn't care less about and meets Arlen, an enigmatic, if slightly annoying, prince who seems hellbent on protecting her from the true evilness that lurks around her while helping her hone her new found strength, which is slowly but steadily creeping out of control. But as time continues to pass and tensions grow higher, Star hears whispers about a growing rebellion that could dissolve the current monarchy and bring her back home. She decides to help, along with her friends, and begins to realize that being young does not exclude her from the horrors of war, and she is faced with the fact that even if she is able to return home, nothing-not even her-will ever be the same. *Basically, a YA novel with teenagers being teenagers, more gay, more diversity, a lot more swearing, and darker humor. Something I'm writing for fun. Give it a shot if you so wish.

'Their curiosity and greed unleashed the darkness; only her light can destroy it.' A mission of a lifetime. New acquaintances that have the potential to become more. Overprotective parents and a sister from another mister who always has my back. My life is anything but normal and I believe it's about to become even crazier. Meet Freya Jones! On the outside she seems like your typical seventeen year old; quirky and sarcastic, rebel with a taste of discovery. But get to know her and you'll find she all that and much more. With parents who excel in their fields of study, they ingrained in her the values and lessons of what it means not only to be a scientist but also a soldier. This is also true for her Best friend Tanya Riker; who for all intents and purposes is her less evil, more cautious but just as rebellious twin. These two have made it their mission to ensure no expedition ever goes smoothly. But what if their latest one... the most important one so far! Has a few bumps in the road, except this time it isn't their fault. Can the 'Loki twins' rise to the occasion? Can they become a missions saviour instead of its saboteur? Read on if you wish to find out.😏 I'm now editing this story but please read and give any feedback! I welcome all opinions :) DISCLAIMER: All artwork used for each chapter are found on google images. Some have been altered to match the aesthetic of the story But I DO NOT OWN ANY OF IT.

"I'm assuming that little speech was meant for me?" "It was meant for everyone." "But mostly me. Is it because I called her selfish earlier? Are you still hung up on that?" "I'm not hung up on anything, Gemma." "Then why would you go up there and say that?" I demand, my voice rising above a whisper. "Of all days, why would you choose today to publicly humiliate me?" "Today isn't about you, Gemma," Bowie says, catching me by surprise. "Today is about Raelyn, and the fact that we all failed her." ----------- 𝕲𝖊𝖒𝖒𝖆 𝕭𝖊𝖆𝖚𝖋𝖔𝖗𝖙's life is turned upside down the day she gets the call that her best friend, Raelyn, took her own life. No note, no explanation, just an empty bottle of pills atop a mountain of unanswered questions. As far as Gemma knew, Raelyn wasn't depressed. Why did she do this? Why did she kill herself? While searching for answers, she forms a bond with Evangeline, Raelyn's six-year-old daughter. Gemma soon learns that Raelyn didn't just leave behind a daughter, though. She also left a stack of secrets so high that Gemma fears she never knew her best friend at all. She's so desperate to find out the truth that she may get more than she bargained for. Everything started 14th July. As a new year begins for Astra and her friends, they're all worried about the future. After a rough year, with shaky trust and suspicions running wild, they're not sure they can handle whatever might be next. N.E.W.T. level classes and schoolyard bullies pale in comparison to a tyrannical government and a growing network of terrorists that no one seems large enough to stop. On top of that, Wren's parents haven't contacted her once about anything, Zaria Hempsey-related or no. Bigger problems soon arise, though. When nightmares become realities, for more than one member of the group, they're each left with little to stand on. The threat of betrayal by others is constant, but when your own mind can betray you, what's left? Started: 5/26/2018 Ended: 8/29/2020
