During one of the last afternoons on their home snowy island, the chieftain of the Yakistini Tribe chooses a large selection of Nichlings from the newest generation to carry on the lineage to a new snowy island.
Usually, it is all said and done, and the lineage simply carries on. But some may wonder... what happens to those Nichlings left behind? What thoughts go through their minds as they realize that they'll be abandoned without any help to survive? That maybe tribe life was only cushioning their lives in a world where everything is out for your blood?
That maybe the reason they left them behind was because inevitable death and destruction lurked only a few days away?

It is a common practice that when one Alpha challengers another, the defeated wolf can either be banished into exile from the pack lands or be put to death if he or she refuses to go. Braydon Winters father, couldn't bring himself to leave the lands where his mate was buried and so once the fight was lost - welcomed the chance to be returned to her side. When the old Alpha was defeated, his now orphaned son became burdened with the same decision to make; stay and die or run. He ran. Angry and hurt his Father would leave him to fend for himself, scared and alone with no pack to take care of him - Braydon kept running until his wolf told him to stop and slowly his new life began. (Story written in 1st person, present tense) Where the strong currents of the Reef lead Ao'nung to the jungles, and there he meets an Omatikayan boy willing to help him get back home. *** Upon one of the usual father and son quarrels, Ao'nung decides he's had enough, and so he flees his home, beyond the reefs--the last place he's allowed to go to, or any water Na'vi for that matter. It's a forbidden place. A no-go zone. It was supposed to be a break to clear his head, far from home, but not too far. He was supposed to return. But within hours he's swept away in the strong currents and ends up somewhere he does not know of. The jungles. He wants to cry and plead forgiveness for his hard-headed choices, but soon an Omatikayan boy stumbles upon him and is ready to kill him. Ao'nung has spent too much time away from home and grows helpless. Fortunately, the Omatikayan boy has a change of heart and decides to help him and takes care of him in the meantime. Unfortunately, something called "love" forms between the two boys of completely different lifestyles and separate clans. Ao'nung is torn.
