Tom Riddle didn't like to believe that there was a god, that there was someone more powerful than he is no matter how hard he tried. He didn't like how one's power was limited to where one was born. But what is God? If God is someone who can decide one's life and death, he'd be the challenger of God for he will end the lives God created.
That is, on his birthday, God gave him a present, something that could either untwist or twist a tighter force onto his twisted plans; and those eyes never saw such serenity until they caught each other.
