At the young age of 14, you move into the seemingly-boring Addison Apartments, and you're afraid you'll stand out because of your "disability". You have a prosthetic arm. Not elbow to fingertips, not shoulder to elbow, the whole arm. Parts of it are metal, but most of it is porcelain oddly enough.
Because of your arm, you have been harassed and bullied. They called you "Dollie", like the old porcelain dolls from the 1800's. This made you feel isolated, like you were a freak. That was, until you met Sal Fisher, the boy with the prosthetic face.
