But what happens when one very quiet rebellion, and one very loud one, come together? Unlikely allies band together, which leads to a chain of events that no one has anticipated. One small action, that's all it takes. A/N: This story is partly fantasy. Nothing supernatural introduced, but it was all created in my mind and has no link to any time in history in particular. Also, this story was inspired by a story I wrote as a young child (8-10) and I was seemingly incredibly morbid at that age (of course altered and expanded, as my idea was rather simplistic).

Despite being raised in Canada, I was expected to have an arranged marriage before I became "too old" for the people in my family's religious community to view me as a potential bride. I grew up thinking that an arranged marriage within my religious community would be my future. When the time came for my sister to get married, I could do nothing but watch as she was forced to marry a distant relative overseas and become trapped in a miserable situation. As I got older, I realized that I needed to take drastic action to avoid the same fate as all the women in my family before me. They had been stifled and traumatized, and they chafed under society's expectations. However, they could do nothing but rely on religion and repeat the cycle of marriage-kids-marriage. Having failed to convince my parents that I needed to have other options, I left. This is the story of how I decided that things needed to change. This is how I took charge of my future.

"Can't you see that I'm trying to help you?!" Sir Yeonjun finally snapped and raised his voice. "I don't need your help! I want to live a peaceful and quiet life!" The Princess rebutted. "And let that monster hog the throne that was rightfully yours? Are you going to let him walk all over you? Do you not have any respect for yourself? You're a Princess for fuck's sake! I can't do this. This isn't my life. This isn't who I am. What do they want from me? How can they expect me to do this. All these thoughts run through my head as I hear the words "You are a princess". It's insane. I can't be a princess. I can barely pass sophomore history. And now they expect me to come back to this far away kingdom and lead a fairy tale life? No way. Especially not after they tell me that I was sent away to be protected from those who seek the throne, the people who killed my real parents. I can't take the throne. I just can't.

I have too, I have become refined, royally royal and trying to be as perfect a woman as possible. Still, I'm glad you are my husband. He breaks the silence with an icy voice, "Fine, do as you wish.
