The Marked Ones

After losing her entire family to the plague, 17 year old Margaret reluctantly finds herself placed on the throne. Her overwhelming new life grows ever more complicated when the King of the Nadaren, the tattooed warriors who border her territory, arrives at court bearing news that their lands are threatened by outside invaders. Against the advice of her councilors, Margaret strikes a tactical alliance with the "Marked Ones", who for centuries have been the sworn enemy of her people. She agrees to hold two of the King's sons as hostages in exchange for sending her troops to the front lines. As brutal warfare breaks out on their borders, Margaret battles to maintain the fragile alliance between her own men and the Nadaren, while struggling against her growing affection for the wild King's captivating and yet enigmatic son, Mikha.
