Kelly was a shy lady who had tough times at school because she was being bullied, made fun with, and treated like an outcast. Every girl in her class hated her for no apparent reason.

Until this transfer student from the US came and pointed out why; Kelly was disliked by other girls because she was effortlessly beautiful inside and out.

Brad Craig was that guy. Hunk, hot, heavenly. And he had his eyes only for this shy lady who had no idea how beautiful her heart was.

They were neighbors who became best friends. And as months went by, they eventually fell for each other and became lovers.

Kelly thought she would never be lonely again because Brad was there to love and support her.

But then, a phone call from the US ruined her fantasies.

Brad was called on to join the US Marine Corp-- one of the most elite fighting forces in the world. It was their family tradition to serve the nation, and Brad had no choice but to comply. Due to the danger he would be facing, he asked Kelly to forget him and move on with her life. He couldn't just let her wait for him to come home from war; it would be impractical.

But Kelly refused to forget and let go of him. She insisted to wait. She made him promise to come back to her and she promised to patiently wait until it happens.

During those months that they were apart, they would write letters for each other; letters of promises and love. They both knew that one day, when Brad was done serving his country, he would come back and they would be together again.

Sadly... it didn't happen.
