Raina Stones: the girl who had everything.
Everything except love, that is.
In the highly religious town of Annesville, Texas, Raina is beloved by all around her. She's the preachers daughter, the teacher's pet. Perhaps she isn't the most popular, but she has a steady group of friends and rumor has it that Avery Brooks, the handsome and charming soccer star, is in love with her. It should have all been perfect.
Except for one issue. Raina is a serious lesbian.
Being out of the closet isn't safe in a town like hers, where people could use religion as an excuse to be violent towards her. Love isn't a word for her. Not when loving could get her hurt.
So when she takes a school-sponsored trip to Italy, she isn't expecting anything new. Just more lessons about European history, and possibly the chance to take some good pictures. But when the beautiful waitress, Margo, gives her her number, things start to get messy.
Pursuing love is always hard. But with the added efforts of staying in the closet, getting her schoolwork done, and dodging the affections of Avery, Raina might not just be ready to handle a relationship. People say love wins. But does it really?
Avery always thought that she had her next five years planned out. Finish college, get a degree in psychology, start working, get back into dating world, travel here and there to learn more about different cultures, hopefully settle down and grow old while doing what she loved.
However, she never thought she'd find herself making out with a beautiful, mysterious and captivating stranger who claimed she needed help in loosing unwanted company. Avery never thought she would be playing a cat and mouse game with Mila, a cold hearted killer.
