In Earth, there is the Natural and the Supernatural world, but actually there is another... the Paranormal world. That world hides various mysteries and unseen mortal beings, threats that are not public knowledge, but can bring imbalance and great fear to the Natural world as soon as revealed. Discover these mysteries and eliminate these creatures from the Paranormal is the routine life of the Order of Paranormal Investigators. Unlike those who appear on TV shows and scammers; the real ones remain hidden from people's eyes and are devoted to being humanity's invisible shield from threats from paranormal macabre beings like: Energy Beings, Infectides, Knowledge Parasites, Slugde Zombies, Blood Creatures, etc... This story is told following Carlos Carvalho de Azevedo Silva or simply Carlos. A paranormal investigator prodigy from Brazil who began this life at age 12, shortly after going through remarkable and traumatic events and having his soul connected to one of the most powerful creatures of the 'Other Side', a.k.a. Paranormal World, the King Wendigo. For having his soul linked to such a dangerous creature, he would be killed where he was found, but the chief investigator instead of decreeing his death, he spared Carlos' life. Then he reached out to him to be one of them and and became Carlos's mentor to control the King Wendigo so that he would not cause evil, but use it to save people. After 6 years as a Paranormal investigator, his mentor lost contact with him and everyone else after making a trip to Kouh, Japan to investigate a possible Paranormal appearance. Without thinking twice, Carlos traveled to Kuoh with the mission of finding his mentor and ensuring his safety. Unaware that he would be on the border of the three worlds: Natural, Supernatural and Paranormal. 7 parts Ongoing
Tala is a 21-year-old first year medical student at the University of the Philippines Philippine General Hospital. Unbeknownst to most, she hails from generations of babaylans, Filipino shamans tasked with appeasing, harnessing, or communicating with spirits of the dead and of nature. While groomed to practice the ancient traditions of her forebears, she must also make her way into the world while protecting her family's legacy, both financially and socially. Though her sheltered youth makes her naive and inexperienced, she is eager to explore. Narciso is a 28-year-old pathology resident trying to juggle work and a family secret that has only barely evaded escape. He is the youngest in a family of aswangs, ordinary humans by day, monstrous shapeshifters by night, able to hide their true nature through stealth, as well as wealth accumulated through generations of assimilation with society through a booming family-owned sugar conglomerate. Narciso is torn between the vagaries of his origins, unwanted family obligations, and his medical vocation. Tala and Narciso eventually meet at the Philippine General Hospital. Narciso has become weary of the world and Tala's enthusiasm, compassion, and innervating conversations are like a breath of fresh air. Despite having different backgrounds and values, the two are inexplicably drawn to each other. Tala quickly discovers that Narciso is far more complex than she initially assumed. As their unlikely friendship grows deeper, Tala begins to understand how fear and ignorance can cause people to be unforgiving, judge others harshly, and make careless, life-altering decisions. Along with this newfound understanding comes a greater appreciation for her own heritage.
