A mix of both computer and human errors landed unemployed, software engineer Sonny Mahzouz a job he never expected. Mistaken for a robot in his workplace for the past five years, Sonny decided that enough was enough. He was taking his settlement money and going on an extended vacation, preferably never coming back.
However, nothing ever goes as planned, and five years working in place of a robot were not without consequences.
This story was written as part of the June 2019: Scifi Holiday contest. The story is developed from a prompt provided by ScienceFiction.

Sticking to his morals meant being left for dead by those in charge. By chance, he meets Luc, a member of the planet's sentient avian humanoid species.
