"Don't you cry and don't you run
I'll come find you my fearful ones
Just wait one year or a few more
And I'll come knocking down your door
Hold a gun or keep a knife
I'll give you the fright of your life
Think I'm lying, just look at your dad
Watch out now I've already gone mad"

-After witnessing his father's brutal murder and finding a note from his father's murderer promising to come back, Jack Hansen has sworn to kill that man. Every year, the night of the purge, his family waits in fear but this year Jack has had enough. He's found multiple clues that this is the year the murderer will come back and this time he's ready. His life a week before the purge is explored as we see what he and the others do to prepare.

But all of Emmy's plans come to a screeching halt when the FBI shows up at her door to let her know that she's being stalked by a serial killer. Suddenly, the safe, insulated world she created for herself is riddled with violence, fear...and a growing pile of dead bodies. At first Emmy wants nothing more than to forget her chilling new reality - but her admirer isn't finished with her yet, and before she knows it, Emmy's stuck in a nightmare she can't dance her way out of.
