Three months flew by like nothing else, but I guess that's what happens when you're wrist-deep in Nat Geo interviews and conspiracy theories for your own research. The volcano on Kahoolawe caught a lot of attention but I was focused elsewhere, across the Atlantic and thousands of miles away: London. We'd be leaving soon for the adventure and I was beginning to get cold feet; what if I was wrong? What if there was no 'next piece'?
Once there we were reluctantly joined by a new friend, one who was wise beyond his years but had plenty of his own secrets to share. We ended up on a wild goose chase across Europe, fighting off monsters and mayhem along the way, all the while attempting to keep our expedition team in one piece. I was starting to lose hope when we found the one person who might've had what we needed and we were off in a race against time to find the piece.
With danger lurking in the shadows and the very fate of the world at stake, you'd think I'd be a little more terrified for my own good; this is me we're talking about though. I just gripped my rope a little tighter and smirked a little harder, telling myself that this was my destiny and I'd be damned if I let this journey end before it could even truly begin.

Prologue I used to have a nightmare when I was younger. It was always the same order and the same impact. It started with the warmth of sand consuming my feet. I looked up to see a warzone. There were flashes of fire, water, and lightning. It was like a war of the gods. Suddenly I felt the heat on my back. I turned to see neon red and yellow flames consume me. I ran to hide in the bushes that were next to me, feeling out of breath I tried to calm myself down. Strands of dark red hair covered my face. I proceeded to swipe my hair and look at my surroundings. I heard sobbing coming from near me. I trudged through the bushes and toward the sobbing when I got to under a willow tree. "Hey, are you okay?" I asked. I saw a girl with long dark red hair being the cause of the sobbing. She had a huge gash on her forehead with blood trailing down her face. She also had burns on her arms and shirt. The boy was in much worse condition. He was covered in burns, she was covering his face with only his hair showing. They both had the same colored hair. Suddenly my necklace started to glow with an amber color. The girl in front of me had a similar amber glow. Two amber crowns sat on top of the pillow. One female and one male crown sat on top of the pillow. Once I walked closer the glow came back. Once I grabbed the tiara everything became white. I was once again in another room, I attempted to move but I mysteriously couldn't. A neon purple bolt of lightning hit my chest. We both locked eyes with each other. Was that me? Before I could find out, the ground started to be drained into a whole. I was sucked into the drain and everything soon became black and I was free-falling. My back soon hit the ground of the room. I rose to look at the surroundings of the new room I was in. I fell to my knees from the pain. Then a person walked forward and grabbed my face.Complete

There is no depictions or allusions of sex, no f-bombs, or drug abuse. This story was started when I was in seventh grade. I finished the original when I was a senior in high school. Displeased with the finished product, I began to rewrite it here, starting June 2015, then again in 2020. I am quite satisfied with the result, and am sure this will be the final edition. This isn't the first book of the series, but there's no spoilers for 'The World is Larger than it Seems', so you can start on this one. But that never happened because the forest has a force living through it. Believing that the forest held something strange was the easy part but experiencing it myself was something totally different. I didn't expect anything normal but I didn't expect to be completly engulfed into the forest. I was led by an unknown presence that made me truly believe it was a living being, and in fact it is. I was innocent then, but now I know that anything can be hidden under a small platform in the woods with a secret bigger than the world itself.
