Ad ogni modo, aveva avuto tempo di riflettere sulla malattia ed era arrivato ad odiarla. Ad un occhio esterno poteva apparire affascinante, quasi bella. Morire letteralmente per amore. Ma questa consapevolezza premeva in Midoriya sul petto, gli trafiggeva il cuore con le spine di quelle rose che crescevano dentro di lui, ogni giorno di più. Viveva in un costante stato di allerta, sapendo che sarebbe potuto soffocare da un momento all'altro. Un fiore insanguinato gli sarebbe rimasto tra le labbra, quando avrebbero trovato il suo corpo. Immacolato ma sporco. Puro ma peccaminoso. Midoriya, nonostante tutto, non aveva mai smesso di amare Todoroki con ogni fibra del suo essere.
