Through online research of the history and culture of Spring Hill, I found out that the county starts up on August 14th. I just so happens to be lead with Caucasian (including White Hispanic), Non Hispanic White and then Hispanic (or Latino). There just so happens to be a quintessential few of the African American descent. Just for the fun of it, I found myself going through the whole Bruno Mars 24K Album and imagining how I could set up each song into a Musical. With some motivation from my Father during a trip down to South Carolina for the Thanksgiving Break of 2017 Timid was born. My name is Steven Hall. At this moment, I am a graduating Senior Music Recording Technology Major with a Minor in Theater from Hampton, University. I would like to formally introduce to you the first play I have written. For the booksmart yet naïve 16-year-old Nicky, high school in her quaint little hometown island in the Philippines had always been predictable. Until that senior year. Nicky thought she got things all figured out. She'd be very good at school and be the valedictorian of the single-section class of 2010 of the highly looked-up science high school in their island. And then, she'd get a full scholarship to her dream university. All was fairly well except for a few things like grappling her feelings towards a long-time crush. Just when Nicky thought she could get through high school without too much boy-drama, a somewhat seemingly love life with a boy or two and suddenly, maybe even three was finally catching up with her during the last few months before high school graduation. She had never thought she could be wrong about a person. And that she could always be wrong about boys... ✨✨✨ Sidenote: I wrote this from November 2010 to April 2011, only a year ahead from the time set in the novel.
