i was roughed up in dauntless; always taught to fight for what i believe in. but how can i concentrate on throwing a knife when questions fly through my head every 5 seconds? why fight for something you're taught to believe in when you don't know what it all means? i know can find out for myself. i already get picked on for being too smart, so why not embrace who i am? i intend to learn more from teachers in erudite than i possibly can from the people showing me how to throw fists in dauntless. i know my life is destined for more than guns and uniforms, and i will find out so much more about the world i'm expected to live in and about who i really am where i belong-in erudite

{BOOK ONE} There are five factions. Each had their own reasoning for thinking why the war had happened. Dauntless; cowardice and fear. They strive to be brave, fearless. Erudite; ignorance. They strive for intellect, to be smart and curious. Candor; deception. They strive to be honest. Amity; they blamed the war itself along with fighting. They strive to be kind, forgiving, peaceful. Abnegation; selfishness. So they strive to be selfless. Dauntless are our police. Erudite are our teachers. Candor is the law. Amity are the farmers. And Abnegation are our government. I would sit on the ground everyday, wearing my yellow dress with black sandals. Wasn't the best thing for me. Dresses made my shoulders to broad, especially the flowing ones. When I was home alone, or with my mother, I would wear I tight black shirt and white shorts. No one would really approve, mostly because they were Candor colours along with the fact it's not... welcoming enough. I never understood Amity, not because of the kindness and the peacefulness; well, mostly the peacefulness. Whenever it should come down to defending ourselves or walking away. We walked away. It confused me. Maybe I wasn't Amity enough to understand. Maybe I wasn't kind enough. Maybe, just maybe, I didn't belong here. So where do I belong?
