He is super smart and has a problem with getting bullied and beaten up especially by a named Lotor and his group of friends. He has anger issues but can't even use them to protect himself. Lance is a school jock/ class clown everyone in school loves the kid but Lance isn't always the happy kid everyone knows! He is scared people might figure out he is bi and think he is a monster.
