Centuries after the Fall, the United States has been wiped away. The crumbling remains of the great American empire are home now only to savage, lawless tribes and packs of ravening Damned-the twisted children of the apocalypse. Most of those few who survived humanity's destruction spend their short lives in a violent struggle for survival. But some light still flickers in the darkness: the Blessed of Bountiful live in seclusion, relying on walls both physical and spiritual to protect them from the Desolation that their world has become. Among them are the Saints, those few men and women born with superhuman abilities that the Blessed see as gifts from God. The violent apostate tribes of the Northeast Kingdom have always been a danger, but up until recently its small size and the vigilance of its people have made Bountiful an unappealing target. As attacks on the community grow harsher and more frequent, however, even the steadfast Blessed are forced to start preparing for the worst. With her home's very existence threatened, seventeen year old Ever Oaks, a Saint with the power to heal, is forced to make a difficult choice, one that may come to define her people's future... Exile was a semi-finalist in Mark Lawrence's Great Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off (#SPFBO). Fantasy Faction said it was "extremely cool," and Bookish Lifestyle called it "more than just a story, a journey and an experience." When I'm asked about it, I often describe it as "X-Men meets The Walking Dead." In addition to reading it here for free, you can buy Exile in e-book or paperback on Amazon.com.

Holding her breath, Claudia lay her head down against the ground and willed herself to be somewhere else. Anywhere else. When she had desired more adventure in her life, this was not at all what she meant! While the garden they were in was beautiful, with uniform, perfectly dispersed trees that let the evening sun shine through with a heavenly golden light, and well-kept paths for anyone to walk, Claudia wished she was enjoying the scenery as a visitor, rather than a fugitive. She could not see Lucius at all from her position, but she could hear him as he moved like a panther through the garden, the rustle of grass his only giveaway. What was he planning to do? Did he have a plan at all? For a long, long time, the garden remained silent. In fact, Claudia was about ready - nay, desperate - to stand up and look around, when from a distance she heard a shout, the clinking of swords, a terrible 'squish' sound, then nothing at all. ** Follow the journey of two distinguished members of the Roman Empire, during the time of Christ's ministry on the earth as they discover the true meanings of 'love', and 'sacrifice'... ** This story switches between two points of view, the switches marked clearly by '***'. This story does not contradict teachings of the Bible, but merely shows the happenings of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection from a different perspective. I hope you enjoy the read, and learn something new about our wonderful God! *If you enjoyed this book please also read it's short story spin off, 'The Traitor Inside'. Thank you!*

"Please.." she couldn't say anything more. Her sobs didn't let her. Roman looked at her with an evil smile, not showing any sign of mercy. "I am not letting you run away like you did that night. Trust me, I'll make sure your life is miserable. I want you to feel the same pain as I am feeling right now." He roughly let go of her and Bailey lost control in her legs. She was about to fall but he held her by her arm leaving her dangling and spoke, "Accept your crime and rot in jail. If I see you roaming around freely in the city as if you haven't done nothing wrong, I will kill you! And destroy everyone and everything around you. Mark my words." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name, Fame, Money, Power...... Those who have it, they still want more. The endless greed of having everything what they desire, never satisfy them. Roman Carter is not just a business mogul and a billionaire; he is a tower of success. He converted his father's business into an empire and still works hard to maintain it. His success was everything he ever wanted but he paid a price. A price which broke him inside and turned him into someone he never wanted to become; someone like his father. Bailey Adams didn't have a big bank balance or power or fame, but still her life was perfect. Her sweet mother, loving boyfriend and a little bakery business were enough to make her life complete. She could live this life forever and would do anything for those who she loves. But life isn't that fair or so easy. Bailey was never a player in the game of power and money but somehow her life got trapped in this web. She became a part of Roman's life; an unwanted part, which he wanted to remove and forget. He hates her, he wants to hurt her, and he wants her to feel the same pain he felt because SOMETHING HAPPENED, that changed their lives forever. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Something Happened~ A Love Story......... He doesn't know how much he's breaking my heart right now. "Trinity, I don't know how to show you how much sorry I am." He states, rubbing his face with his hand in frustration. "You can't, your 'sorry' doesn't changed what happened." I point to my face, where the bandage is. "This could have been prevented but you didn't even move a muscle to come and save me." "Trinity, if I did that it could have ruined my plans." He says, lowly. "It doesn't matter. If you truly love me like you say you do, you wouldn't have hesitated to come save me. I was so scared Aaron, I thought I was going to die." I respond, tears spilling before I can stop them. "I do love you Trin, I love you so fucking much." He states, clutching his shirt where his heart is. "Not like the way I love you Aaron. If you were in the position I was in, I wouldn't have fucking hesitated to come save you. I would die for you and you clearly wouldn't do the same." - Trinity's planner didn't originally have "falling in love with Aaron Florence" on it, but after a heated night and multiple dates, it became a daily thing. That is until, she learns about what he does for work. She knew he worked with Reid Laurent, but she didn't know about what they did.
