Liv was just now getting used to the whole moving away thing. Los Angeles was absolutely nothing like the gray, sunless Seattle. Something in the hot sea breeze made her shiver with excitement, despite feeling like an outsider among those busy streets and tanned people. She had to start fresh: new school, new friends, new life... or so she thought. New beginnings aren't always easy, especially when you fall head over heels for the troubled, instigating and rebellious heartthrob who gets close to everyone and no one at all. For Liv, finding her way could turn out to be as tough a task as letting go of who she was, all the while dealing with a feeling she had never known before.

Like a bolt of lightning, this stupid boy appeared in my life. First day of summer break between first and second grade, he just appeared- standing on my porch like he was born there. Straight brown hair, wide dark eyes and a fresh sunburn across his cheeks. He was already talking before I even opened the door. I don't know how it happened but it's been ten years. And he's still here. Talking, whether or not I'm listening. Laughing, even if no one else is. He's still too quick- racing around the world like he's scared he's going to miss it. He's gotten taller...much taller. His hair is a little longer, a little wavier, but under the light it still looks the same golden brown it did when we were nine. And now, finally, he was a high school graduate. We both were. Like a bolt of lightning he appeared and like the sun he refused to disappear. _____________________________________________ I fell asleep with my chin pointed at him, the outline of his face being the last thing I saw. How was I supposed to do this? It had always been difficult, hiding this secret, keeping him close. But now, my focus was starting to slip. I couldn't see anything but his lips, his hands, his smile. I couldn't hear anything but my name in his mouth, his jagged breaths and that loud laugh. How am I supposed to be okay with this? How am I supposed to focus on anything other than him? #1- slowburn- 11.10.25🥇 #1- friends to lovers- 11.01.25🥇 #1- fluffandsmut- 11.02.25🥇 #1- college- 11.06.25🥇 #1- best friends- 11.12.25🥇 #1- teammates- 12.04.25 🥇 #1- college roommates- 12.30.25🥇 #1- mental health- 01.02.2026 🥇 #1- gay love- 01.02.2026 🥇 #2- roommates- 12.18.25🥈 #3- bxblove- 11.30.25🥉 #4- boyxboy- 11.01.25 #4- lgbt- 11.15.25 #14- boyxboyromance- 12.15.25 #22- basketball- 12.15.25

Liam thought that the only significant event that would ever occur in his life would be his parents getting a divorce. But that's where he was wrong. Suddenly, Liam's average Australian teenage boy life is thrown up into the air when he and his mum decide to move to California. Liam finds himself with a buzzing social life that he never had before and of course, a beautiful girl living next door. Will the craziness of teenage life get in the way or will one shake be all it takes? *AUTHOR'S NOTE* I just wanted to say that I'm sorry to anyone who was waiting for me to take this story further. I feel like I hit a bit of a brick wall. I love this story, it was the first time I started writing for me and not for school. I was getting some major writer's block when it came to this story which felt weird because the creative juices had been flowing up to this point. I love this story and the characters and I finally realised that any writing I tried to force out would be really bad quality and that it could ruin the story. I do realise that this is very frustrating; I would be annoyed if someone did it to me. But I really think that in this case, less is more. I may come back to this story one day, but I make no promises. I feel like my time with Liam and Saskia has come to an end. They can enjoy their summer in peace! Basically, this is just a feel-good summer read, and I hope I've brought you some enjoyment at least. xx RomanceWriter2000 :)

"The moon's really beautiful, if you think about it," I blurted. "Yeah?" he asked, mild amusement and curiosity mingling in his voice. "Yeah," I confirmed. "It's just- there's something about the moon that's ethereal. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's a constant in life. You can't always see it, but you have to trust that it's out there somewhere. And when you can see it, it's all bright and shiny and overcomes the darkness." I paused, searching for the right words. "I don't know. I guess it's a reminder that there are good things out there, even if you can't see them... And it's cool to think that someone hundreds of miles away is staring at the exact same moon as you. It makes me feel not so alone in life." Turning my head, I saw him staring at me intently with a thoughtful look on his face. "Too deep for a Friday night?" I laughed nervously, feeling my face grow hot. And this was precisely why I didn't go to parties. He shook his head and seemed to snap out of his daze. "It was deep in a good way." *** SHE was quiet & left out. Some people break your heart. Others teach you how to carry the pieces. Sam isn't looking for drama - she's still trying to breathe after the kind of heartbreak that leaves echoes in every hallway. But when a mysterious classmate starts messaging her under a ridiculous username, when old feelings resurface at the worst possible time, and when a summer trip throws everything off balance, Sam begins to wonder if it's possible to start over - even when you're not ready. As friendships shift, secrets unravel, and her heart pulls in more than one direction, Sam learns that healing doesn't come all at once. Sometimes, it comes in unexpected laughs, second chances, and the quiet strength to choose yourself. A story about letting go, falling again, and the small, brave steps toward something new.
