The story begins with Kaidan Sutherland aboard the interstellar ship "The Boid" with other four peoples : Mercurio Venus a wealthy playboy , a doctor Gizmo Gaello ,his bodyguard Lilian Strauss and a journalist Tessa Monette.They arrive at the destination ,an alien planet named Larvath for an event that happens once every 1,000 years "The Beetle Wars" hosted by a charming red alien dressed in an extravagant robe Prophet Serpigo.
" Little did Kaidan know that on Larvath a big surprise awaits him."
