Being a normal human being is all Piper has ever known. But when the truth is reveled to her she is pulled into a world of beings beyond belief. Engaged to a shifter, who sees her as a belonging and a tool to fulfill an age old prophecy, she has no other choice but to run in hopes of a better life.
No matter how far she runs though, she can never escape her past; especially when it is chasing after her. She stumbles upon the very species she is to destroy only to find asylum. A species that shows her that she can control what happens to her.
With her past trying to catch her to fulfill their prophecy and her future trying to destroy that same prophecy, Piper is stuck in the middle of a war. When her fate is seemingly set in stone will she be overruled by it or will she succeed in defying fate!
