With a rebellion throwing the Kingdom of Arkadras into turmoil, the lives of commoners and courtiers alike are immersed in chaos.
Kayan, on the run for most of his life, is willing to do whatever it takes to escape a land that has only brought him misery for the past decade. Yet, his darkest secrets will follow him wherever he goes.
Arlene, a prisoner of the King himself, has lived a life of abuse and pain. When an unexpected opportunity knocks, she must set aside her beliefs to do what is necessary for her survival.
Darian is the heir to the throne, but his father is less than willing to put a crown on the head of a son who has no desire to father children.
Vincent has traveled a long way, to bring a message of peace from the neighboring land of Sperda. Less than welcome in Arkadras, he encounters deceit and long-kept secrets at every turn.
But with a revolution looming closer, every plan, every scheme and every life, hangs in the balance.
