In this latest @Ooorah anthology, we team up with Wattpad's own @WattpadPunkFiction. Inspired by a round theme from our Wattpad-famous SmackDowns, sci-fi writers will be challenged to craft a kickass story with one cardinal rule: They must first randomly generate and then merge a -Punk sub-genre and a non-Punk sub-genre.

From now on we shall call this noble goal...

TK Special #7 - Return to the M'Verse: An Ooorah Anthology by Ooorah

Each of the stories featured herein is set within a Universe of the writer's creation, while all being a part of a larger, shared Multiverse. At the Ooorah Mothership, we call this the M'Verse. Writers have free rein to tell the story they want to tell, providing it's sci-fi in nature and no more than 5000 words in length... then it's all good! There are, however, five "rules" to which all created Universes within the shared Multiverse must adhere. Think of them as non-mandatory prompts that weave an invisible, unbreakable web throughout this anthology. But that shouldn't prove too difficult for the writers partaking... It's time to RETURN TO THE M'VERSE.

Our previous two SmackDowns were both massive successes, and it's high time for another. You might remember the last one was heavy on the "game" elements, maybe even too heavy. This time we're going back to the basics and keeping it simple. It's just a motherfuckin' sci-fi SmackDown: a heated writing contest where contestants are given text-, music- and visual-based prompts, and then they need to write a short story around that, following which they're judged for their efforts and either move on to the next round or they get eliminated from the competition. But there's gotta be some kind of twist, right? For this one we're waxing nostalgic, we're looking back into our past. We're going back to our roots.

Against many people's fears and warnings, A.I. started off as an innocent project spawned by the curiosities of scientists and tech entrepreneurs alike. It eventually evolved into a complete robot uprising. It has been 5 years since the Automation War has ended. Billions of lives have been lost and disrupted. Society hardly resembles that which we once knew. The remaining survivors have attempted to pick up the pieces of their once shattered lives. Learning from their mistakes of the past, A.I. has been outlawed and strict measures are in place to protect the human species from extinction. Out of the rubble, a new government has formed and risen to power. They call themselves The Shadow - a group of anonymous hackers who control every aspect of civilization. They monitor its citizens through chip implants, which measure every aspect of their lives from their happiness, productivity, and overall contribution to society, etc. Low performers are systematically round up, and shipped off to be executed. In a hyper-connected world where every move is tracked and even predicted, nine strangers must figure out how to stop this group and restore order in the world. *** A cyberpunk thriller set in a futuristic world.
