Raya Stark was the metaphorical, and sometimes literal, ugly duckling of the Stark family. She wasn't anywhere near genius, she wasn't into expensive galas and bars, and she certainly wasn't a picture worth hanging on the fridge. She hated her parents, tolerated her brother, and was always a drink away from self-destructing.

Meeting Carol Danvers though, gave Raya something worth getting her act together for. Someone worth caring herself about for. Something so raw and powerful and dangerous, it was never bound to last.

So she got in the car on December 17th, 1991 and she didn't even have much of a life to fall apart when she got dragged away to HYDRA.

And Raya definitely doesn't have any pieces to put back together when she ends up over twenty years later, with a younger brother who's now older, and her old girlfriend somehow alive. But now with glowing fists. God, the future is weird.

But maybe, hopefully, it'll be enough for Raya and Carol.

Not everything Hydra did had a specific purpose. Sometimes they tortured people and ruined lives just because they could. The kidnapping of Joana Kegley served no greater purpose than to help break in their newest experiment. Before her boyfriend went to war, Joana was a simple girl who helped her elderly grandmother run a clothing store. After her boyfriend went to war, she became something of a small town hero. A woman came to her personally to tell her that her boyfriend, Bucky Barnes, and her best friend, Steve Rogers, had both died bringing down Hydra. It wasn't long after that when she was plucked off the street like some stray cat and chained to a chair like a dog on a leash, where she learned that Bucky had endured something worse than death and that she was there to help them break him. Nothing she did could stop the turn of events that took place as the years rolled by. She hardly noticed that neither one of them aged. It wasn't until Hydra fell and she was still locked away, somewhere in the deep pits of some underground facility, that she realized how much the world had changed. Bucky Barnes remembered very little outside his own name, but he remembered a girl. He remembered a girl with a voice of reason, who spoke only the truth to him, who wanted nothing more than to keep him safe from himself. She did everything she could to stop her superiors, and he would do anything to get her back. {I don't own Marvel. Basically, everything goes to the creators. I just got Jo and Winnie and some other stuff I made up. It will get dark, so if you don't think that that's for you, please don't read. Enjoy}

*CURRENTLY BEING EDITED - EDITED CHAPTERS HAVE THE NUMBER WRITTEN WITH NO NUMBERS* When Tony first met Grace, she had just climbed out of a cryogenic tank in a HYDRA base, soaked in blood and with no memories whatsoever. Tony was also bleeding from the fight after the truth about his parent's murder was revealed. Against his best judgment, he takes her with him to help recover her memories. It doesn't take long for Tony to find himself falling for her, but he didn't expect her to feel the same way. Things seem to be perfect until Grace's history comes to light, stiring up issues about the Accords and the separation of the Avengers. At the same time, a mysterious enemy with solid proof of things the Avengers and SHIELD would rather hide appears, determined to tell the world who our favorite heroes really are. Set after CA: CW. Grace is my OC and belongs to me but anything associated with Marvel doesn't. Mature themes such as torture, PTSD, anxiety, trauma, and violence are explored. Some smut. Proceed with caution.
