After learning of a huge family fortune that awaits a missing girl who may or may not be dead, struggling actress Hazel Rigby plays a dangerous con, posing as the wanted girl in order to swindle her inheritance.
With the help of a friend, she successfully tricks everyone into believing that she is, in fact, that girl.
Upon her residency at the manor as she awaits the imminent passing of her "grandmother" and the eventual transfer of the estate to her, a series of strange, paranormal things begins happening.
Rose Carson and her family move to a house left to them by their great-grand mother who passed away. Her family is excited.
Rose though? Not so much.
Rose isn't buying it. A creepy old house in the middle of nowhere? No thanks. A mysteriously dead granny? No way. She has seen the movies and she knows how this plays out.
Rose soon finds out her suspicious attitude is paying off as she meets McGee, one of the many trapped ghosts on her new estate. McGee can't remember anything from being alive and he needs Rose's help.
Rose and McGee make a deal to make the ironically predictable stay worthwhile. McGee keeps her family safe and she finds his body to set them all free.
But what neither of them realize is that some secrets are better left buried.
