4 Seconds to Shanghai

Dong Shancai is a poor commoner girl living away from her family in the suburbs of Shanghai. She's always loved to sing, but she loves her family more. And now, after Shanyuan, her little brother, is diagnosed with Leukemia, she's trying desperately to raise money to pay for his medical bills, giving up the love of her life, Daoming Si, in the process.

Three years after moving across the country to get a less expensive radiation treatment for her brother, she gets an amazing opportunity to compete in the televised Měilì de shēngyīn singing competition and win a ¥50,000 Yuan prize, which would be more than enough to cover her brother's medical bills!

She wants to win, of course. More than anything.

But fate has other plans. . . Shancai meets her ex-boyfriend from high school, Daoming Si, in the elevator of the hotel the competition sponsors are providing her, and finds out he is one of the judges!

In those three years Shancai left him, Si's been busy. He's made a name for himself as the lead singer of one of China's hottest rising boy bands, crossing international borders with he and his bandmates' music. It's very important to know that Shancai never gave Si a true explanation for why she left him.

Will she end up losing the Měilì de shēngyīn competition and have her life result in tragedy with her little brother? Or will she get everything she wants, become the singer she'd always dreamed of becoming-and maybe even find. . . love, again?
