In a world of weaponless peace, sixteen-year-old Evie Rattelsford is finally old enough to have her own battle Avatar. Shiver isn't a normal Avatar. Unlike the beast creatures the other bracelets release, Shiver has a human form and when President MacMahon discovers the icy human creature, she wants Shiver back. Evie, along with her best friends Tawny Sanders and Takeshi Sato, her trainer Jefferson Hayze and a member of the government, Kennedi Weise, Evie will enter the Summoner Battles to fight to keep Shiver, and her life while discovering the peaceful government may have a secret.
