Le jeune journaliste Romain s'est donné pour mission de franchir la forête millénaire, et découvrir si la légende des Lynites est réelle. Selon cette légende, un peuple se divisant en 5 familles de l'eau, de la terre, du feu, de l'air et des animaux, vivent en autarcie.  Jusqu'alors, personne n'a réussit à traverser cette forêt, hormi l'écrivain de la légende. 
De son côté, une jeune adolescente du nom de Mélanie se retrouve par hasard dans une école avec des personnes aux pouvoirs étranges. Ce peut-il que les deux mondes soient liés ?
