En un lugar alejado de toda la vida humana, pero tan cercano a ella como sus pensamientos, se encuentra la ciudad del descanso. Allí, en pesadillas y sueños interminables, las personas sufren desdichas que, ni siquiera el más maligno de los seres humanos, desearía vivir.

Con la sensación de estar muertos, sin haber salido de su cuerpo, las personas deben afrontar el sufrimiento que esta misteriosa ciudad les propina. Sin una ubicación, ni calles enumeradas, ni personas con las que poder hablar, esta ciudad es un completo enigma, que en muchas de las mentes humanas, no existe.
