Fawkes was a god. He was quite sure of that by now. It had been difficult for him to process at first because he obviously didn't feel like a god, but faced with the empirical evidence that had surrounded him almost every day since his birth, he had to concede at some point. He had done impossible things. He had destroyed armies, healed the sick, and caused crops to grow without weeks of rain. The prophets had told him he was a god, and he wasn't inclined to disagree with him.

You return for your 7th year to complete your education after the Battle of Hogwarts, hoping to reclaim some semblance of normalcy after the chaos. Though the war is over, its scars still linger in the walls of the castle and your home life would be just as painful: Your father, a Muggle, was victim to one of the many violent attacks during Voldemort's blood purification campaign, leaving him physically and emotionally scarred and many a question unanswered.... When you're unexpectedly paired with Draco Malfoy for a potions project, you're forced to spend more time with him than you ever imagined. Throughout your years at Hogwarts, you never saw Draco as an enemy, but as a school ground bully - someone whose sharp words and haughty demeanor always left you wondering what lay beneath the surface. He was enigmatic, always just out of reach, and though you'd never admit it, you'd always been curious about the real Draco Malfoy. As you work together on the project, however, a surprising bond begins to form between you and Draco. The walls that once separated you start to crumble, and you begin to see him in a new light. He's more vulnerable than you ever expected, and you start to realise that maybe there's more to him than meets the eye. What begins as mutual respect soon turns into something deeper, something undeniable. But as you grow closer, the ghosts of your past - the lingering trauma, the unanswered questions, and your growing feelings for Draco - threaten to undo everything. Can you move forward, or will the dark secrets of the past tear you both apart?
